Milan Fashion Week Recap

September 29, 2009

Times are changing for Milan, and not necessarily in a good way. The “best dressed” city is  known for its grandeur and luxury goods has taken a forceful blow as the global economy takes a hell of a nose dive. Milanese designers and manufacturers are forced with the unthinkable: outsource or scale back.

The result, “safe” Spring 2010 collections with less than admirable reviews from journalists who wondered what could the designers be thinking.

Cutting back is going against everything Milanese designers strive for and it’s not rocket science that cutting costs will affect the quality of goods that bare the label “Made in Italy”.

Nonetheless, there were some beautiful looks and colors to come down the runways. Here they are, in no particular order.
